On Friday 23rd November, the celebration event for this years Autumn NCS programme took place at Oxford Brookes University; this event was a huge success which saw the young people be congratulated with their awards, and be reunited with one another. It also gave a chance for the young people's parents/ carers to celebrate their huge success.
"I really enjoyed meeting new people"
One part in particular which was great was being able to find out what each group had been up to during their phase 3, which was Social Action. All of the groups chose a different charity or organisation around Oxfordshire which was close to their heart. One group chose to raise money for Helen and Douglas House, and managed to raise over £200!
It's incredible from this event to see how much all the young people have changed from the first time that I had met them.
The National Citizen Service is a great opportunity for young people to partake in as it allows them to grow as a person, take part in activities, meet new friends and much more, if you're aged 16-18, keep an eye out for futurue NCS programmes!
