Young Carers Residential in Oxford

25 May 2016
Study Higher is holding a 3-day residential for young carers in Year 10 and 11 from 29th June to 1st July 2016.

This residential gives young carers from across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Swindon a unique opportunity to visit a variety of university institutions and get a real taste of student life!  The 3-day event aims to raise educational aspirations through a range of activities that enable participants to build their confidence, recognise their personal skills, understand their future educational options and introduce them to the culture of higher education.

Who is this for?

This residential is aimed at young carers from across the Study Higher region who are in school year 10 or 11.  Study Higher is fully funding the event, so the whole residential is free to all attendees.

What will the residential include?

The residential will include two overnight stays at an Oxford University College and 3 days of activities to understand the support on offer at university, explore the various routes through education, and break down the barriers to success.

How to be involved

Places on the residential are limited. Therefore, it is advised to complete all forms as early as possible. Anyone who is interested can complete the sign up form.

Once signed up, Study Higher will send more information including a parent/guardian and school/college consent form. This form will need to be completed and send back to us by June 10th.
