Did you know that 10% of children and young people (aged 5-16 years) have a mental health problem, yet 70% of these young people who experience mental health problems have not been recognized at an early age? This needs to change.

This is why The Mental Health Foundation is holding a Mental Health Awareness Week from the 16th – 22nd of May 2016. This year’s theme is ‘Relationships’ and focuses on how having healthy relationships is very beneficial to your mental health.

There are loads of events and fundraising happening all around the UK during the week, find out more on their website.

You may think mental health problems are something that you are born with, but they’re not always, read the relationships leaflet to find out 10 ways to look after your mental health.
