British Heart Foundation Volunteering - Electrical Item Tester
If you like playing with different gadgets, figuring out how they work and making sure they are safe to use, this is the perfect volunteering role for you!
We’re looking for people at our brand new Wantage Furniture Store to test all electrical items generously donated to us, making sure they are suitable and safe for sale.
What you'll be doing:
You'll be plugging everything in, making sure all the different functions work
Giving items a quick clean ready for them to be safety tested by our PAT tester
Following all of the BHF Health and Safety procedures for working with electrical items
(Full training will be given for all roles - no experience necessary, just a willingness to learn!)
What we can offer:
Full training, no experience necessary - just a keen attitude and an eye for safety
Reasonable travel expenses reimbursed - if you get the bus in, we'll cover it
Plenty of tea and biscuits!
On-going training and support from staff, and opportunities to learn CPR and study a free NVQ if you are in receipt of benefits.
Flexible timings - 3 hours a week would be a huge help. Get out of the house, meet new people, have a cuppa and give back to a good cause!
Apply now or pop in and see Deb to get you started and join a friendly team. This role can be quite flexible - a commitment of 2 hours each week would be great which you could move around each week to fit your schedule. Any time you give helps raise money that funds life-saving research into heart disease.
To apply, please ring the store on 01235 763389, email on firstname.lastname@example.org or pop in at Unit 9 Kings Retail Park, Limbourne Road, Wantage, OX12 9AJ and ask for Deb, the Manager.
So if you have an interest in electrical items, can work in a safe and organised manner and would like to broaden your skill set, pop down to the Wantage Furniture store or call and speak to Deb about the role - a few hours a week will help us raise money in the shop which goes towards life-saving research.
