Safer Internet Day 2016 Competition Winners

Safer Internet Day 2016 was celebrated on 9th February across the world! In Oxfordshire, we ran a competition to promote positive messages about how to make the internet a better place for everyone, and to raise awareness about how young people can play their part for a better internet and stay safe online.

An acrostic poem which reads ‘Speak to a grown up if anything looks worrying on the internet. Meeting up with people you meet online is wrong. Addresses, email addresses, mobile numbers you should never post online, remember that not everyone online is who they say they are. Think carefully about what you say before you post something online. Even if you don’t agree with someone else’s views don’t be rude. Respect other people’s views. Keep your privacy settings as high as possible. If you see something that makes you uncomfortable, leave the website, turn off your computer. Don’t befriend people you don’t know.
