Description

Are you interested in developing a career in Procurement and Financial Services? If yes then Oxford City Council has an opportunity for you to spend time with both their Procurement and Payments teams to do just that by joining the teams as an Apprentice.

We are looking for an individual who will thrive in busy environments to provide a high quality, proactive support service for the Procurement and Payments teams.

This role will gain real insight into how both areas operate and will enable the successful candidate to be able to develop and expand their knowledge by assisting in the delivery of procurement and contract management support and developing financial accounts skills throughout the Council by:

• Responding to internal enquires

• Managing various online and internal management and accounting processes • Monitoring the contract register

• Updating website and templates

• Supporting with internal procurement audits

In addition the apprentice will undertake a number of transferable skills and behaviours that can be applied in any chosen career path as well as receiving on the job training and other development opportunities.

Qualifications

Desirable, but not essential, that the candidate have 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English and Maths and Grade C/4 or above.
