Everyone should be registered with a dentist. This supports their dental health and wellbeing.

Your dentist provides services like:

  • Regular dental health checks
  • Sorting out dental problems, like pain or damaged teeth
  • Improving dental health, for example with braces

Dental health is very important to your overall health. People who take care of their teeth suffer fewer health problems and report better wellbeing.

Take action: You can find dentists near you by asking your GP or place of learning. Many people also go to the same dentist as family or friends.  You can also find dentists near you on the NHS website

Healthy teeth, happy smile

Some people worry about going to the dentist. They might have concerns about pain or how much it is going to cost.

Dentists are experienced at supporting patients to feel better about dentistry concerns.

For people who need more specialist support, this is available. Ask your dentist or your GP.

Take action: The Oral Health Foundation has lots of information on all sorts of dental health issues, from cosmetics to healthy gums.
