Information, tips, and links to support to help with mental wellbeing this winter

Taking care of mental wellbeing is important, especially in winter when the weather is cold and the nights become longer. 

Here are some the ways and places that you can support your mental wellbeing.

Self-care:

Self-care can be a good way to support your wellbeing, and there of different ways to practice self-care, including:

  • Taking regular 'me time'
  • Staying as active as you can
  • Spending time with your loved ones

Local support:

There are lots places locally that you can access support with your mental wellbeing. Talking to your School Health Nurse or GP can be a good place to start. 

But there is other support available locally:

Good to know: The talk of war in the news and online can be scary. But if you're worried about war, you are not alone. The Mix have put together some great advice on coping with war anxiety

Online support:

It can be helpful to talk to somebody you trust about your wellbeing, but if you'd prefer to talk to somebody you don't know, there is support is available:

  • Childline - information, support, articles, and games
  • The Mix - wellbeing support for under 25's
  • Young Minds - help and advice on mental wellbeing for young people
