Taking care of your mental wellbeing is always important - especially during busy times, and there are lots of ways that you can do this!
Spending time outdoors
Spending time outdoors and with nature is a simple way to support your mental wellbeing, especially now that the days are brighter.
There are lots of fun ways to spend outdoors, including:
- Switching to active travel
- Joining an outdoor activity or sports group
- Making plans to hangout with friends outdoors
Take action: Make sure that you know how to keep yourself and others safe whilst out and about.
Keeping active
Keeping as active as you can is a good way too support your mental and physical wellbeing - it also helps to boost your mood too!
Not sure where to start? Here's some ideas:
- Find a sports club to join
- Try a new workout at home or at the gym
- Go for regular walks, runs, or cycles
Now that spring is here you could also try some outdoors workouts, go for evening walks, or try some gardening - this can be an easier way to stay active.
Staying connected with others
Staying connected with others can be another great to support your mental wellbeing and boost your mood.
If you're looking for ways to stay active, good places to start include:
- Making plans to visit friends or family
- Joining a new activity club or youth group
- Taking part in some volunteering
It can also be helpful to talk about how you're feeling with people you trust. This could be a friend, trusted adult, or your School Health Nurse.
