Youth Voice is part of Oxfordshire County Council’s promise to listen to and care for children and young people in care or who are care experienced.

We work with the Corporate Parenting Board to make sure your views are heard loud and clear – and listened to. Your voice can make a real difference.

About Youth Voice

Youth Voice is a group of children and young people who have experience of children’s social care services. Many of our members are in care or are now care leavers but anyone who has a social worker can be involved in Youth Voice.

Youth Voice is about championing the rights of children and young people and having your voice heard to shape services and make meaningful change to help other children and young people.

There are many opportunities to get involved. We might invite you to share your experiences and give feedback to the people who make decisions across Children’s Services. There will be opportunities to have fun, make friends, and connect with others in a relaxed environment to discuss issues that are important to you.

You will learn new skills that will be useful for education and work, and you can also get certificates and AQAs for participating in some of our activities. You will often be paid for your participation in our events and forum, and food is provided for our meetings and activities. We encourage you to use public transport or get a lift to our events.

If you sign up to Youth Voice you will be kept updated when opportunities, activities and events come up – you don’t have to come to everything.

Become a member: If you would like to join, or have any questions about being a member, please contact: youth.voice@oxfordshire.gov.uk

Mind of My Own

The Mind of My own app is a new way for children’s social care to hear the voices of children in their care. Youth Voice members are passionate about spreading the word and promoting professionals to use this with the children and young people that they work with.

How can I get involved?  If you would like to be part of Youth Voice or just to learn more & have a chat about what we do, please contact Youth.Voice@oxfordshire.gov.uk or send a message via the Mind of My Own app.
