Description

Oxford City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Rapid Rehousing Apprentice to join one of our dynamic teams. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to start your career in local government; gain valuable workplace experience and make a real difference in your community.

As an apprentice, you will be supported in developing a wide range of administrative and professional skills while working towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification. You will gain insight into how a busy Council operates and have the chance to work with a variety of departments and stakeholders across the organisation and the city.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be primarily to help and support all Rapid Rehousing Teams and maintaining data quality. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the teams. Depending on the service area, this may include helping with projects, customer enquiries, organising meetings or events, maintaining records, and contributing to the delivery of community-focused services.

Training

As part of this apprenticeship, you will study towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification with Abingdon & Witney College. The course includes a 5-month practical training period, followed by a 3-month End Point Assessment. Learning is delivered through a blend of approximately 10 days of college attendance per year, supported by online learning and work-based assessments. Throughout the programme, you’ll gain valuable insights into how organisations function — including their purpose, structure, and the external factors that influence them. You’ll learn how your role contributes to overall business success, how to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (both in the UK and internationally), and how to support compliance with key laws and regulations such as health & safety and data protection. You’ll also develop essential business knowledge and skills in areas such as project management, change management, and financial awareness — giving you a strong foundation for a successful career in business administration.
