Film Oxford is celebrating 40 years of community filmmaking with their exciting 'Lights Camera Oxford' project, which will deliver free arts and filmmaking activities throughout the year.

This is an intergenerational project open to young people aged 16-25 and those over 50, who are not in full time education or employment.

Bookings are now open!

Bookings are now open for Inside the Archive and Slow Photography. Both courses are free and travel bursaries are available.

  • Slow Photography: 17th or 19th February (10am-4pm) - Learn to use a film camera to document Oxford’s historic cinema sites, and master the art of developing negatives. You will also get to work with local photographers.
  • Inside the Archive: A 7-week project starting on 26/02/2026 - Learn camera, sound and editing skills to make a short film exploring Oxford’s vintage community film archive.
