The Met Office issues weather warnings when severe weather is expected. Current warnings show severe hot weather in Oxfordshire.

Water safety advice

While entering waterways can be tempting in hot weather, there are dangers including hidden hazards and cold shock (even in hot weather). 

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has water safety advice to avoid getting into difficulty in the county’s many waterways during the hot weather.

School closures

Schools are asked to update this page on the county council's website if they need to close for any emergency reason including extreme heat.
