Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) is taken by people with a female reproductive system to help prevent unwanted pregnancy.

EHC is also available from local Sexual Health Services and other health services.

What is Emergency Hormonal Contraception?

If you have had unprotected sex, or if your normal contraception fails, emergency contraception helps to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

EHC can be taken up to 120 hours after unprotected sex, but the sooner it is taken the more effective it is.
