In January 2025 the Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS) hosted a peer review.
A peer review is a process whereby an organisation or service invites outsiders to come and be a critical friend. The aim is to highlight good practice as well as identify areas for improvement.

This peer review was facilitated by the National Youth Agency, funded through DCMS and included 7 reviewers.
Oxfordshire County Council submitted a wide range of documentation prior to a 4-day onsite visit, where reviewers spoke with and visited service users, colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
The team came to look at the work of TYSS and the provision for young people across Oxfordshire. They gave some great feedback which is covered in the report. The reviewers also made suggestions for actions to take this amazing work forward.
Here's what one young person had to say:
“It was a pleasure having the chance to see the fantastic work that is taking place across Oxfordshire to support young people. I was particularly impressed with the political support that exists for the youth service and the positive culture that exists within the organisation".
